Introduction:
This form will screen for eligibility. If you are eligible, you will be contacted through email with personalized questions.

Purpose:
The purpose of the study is to learn more about the unique experiences of trans people who have beliefs that don’t align with popular liberal/progressive transgender community opinions. This includes a wide range of right-wing viewpoints such as Trump voters, traditionalists, and anarcho-capitalists. 

Eligibility
Eligible participants are transgender, transsexual, trans, nonbinary, or a related identity. They are located in the United States, have beliefs that don’t align with popular liberal/progressive transgender community opinions, and are 18 years or older.


What you will do in the study?
If you decide to take part in this study, you will first complete an online survey to determine if you qualify for participation. It will take about 5 minutes to complete.
 
If you qualify to participate, we will contact you via email with follow-up questions surrounding your personal history, political beliefs, and relationship with the trans community as a whole. The email interview will take anywhere from 5-30 minutes. 
By participating, you acknowledge that the researchers may use pseudonomized quotes from your interviews in reports/publications that result from this research if they find them relevant. If you do not agree to this you should not participate. Your personal information will be held as securely as possible and not released.

Time Required:
Your participation will take anywhere between 5 and 30 minutes.

Risks or Discomforts:
There are few risks to this study. The researchers are taking measures to protect your information as described in the confidentiality section below. 

The information that you give in the study will be handled confidentially. You will be asked to give us a name you would like to use for the purposes of the study. This does not have to be your legal or chosen name. Your name will not be used in any report. Identifiable research data such as email addresses, names, and personal details will be encrypted and password protected on UCSC’s servers. They will also be altered to protect your identity upon publication. We encourage you to use a name other than your own or a new email address if you are concerned about confidentiality. All information will be destroyed 1 year after publication.
